The tutorial
is designed to introduce novice users of Pro/DESKTOP to
fundamental CAD techniques by guiding the user through a
Focused Practical Task. The Focused Practical Task describes
how to create the Target Design of a simple compact camera.
The process of designing the camera introduces the user
to the basic solid modelling technique of Extrude Profile.
The camera is limited to a circle and a rectangle as the
building blocks of the Target Design. On completion of this
first tutorial the user should be empowered to use their
Pro/DESKTOP skills to explore their own creativity and develop
individual variations of the camera design.
The second tutorial describes how to export the design created
in Pro/DESKTOP into MiniCAM from Delcam and manufacture
the model on Denford's Micromill 2000 CNC milling machine.
The tutorials are designed to assist the teacher and student
to satisfy the National Curriculum requirement for CAD/CAM
and use this exciting technology as a creative design tool.
