These WebPages have been created as part of the
work undertaken by Pan Panayiotou - Gatsby Teacher
Fellowship 2006. The objective of his project was to
produce an interactive CD/DVD guide for KS4/KS5 pupils
and teachers, when involved in Design Project work. The
idea behind the CD/DVD was to produce a piece of
software that uses Designers and Manufacturers to lead
students through the design process. By using designers
commenting on how they tackle each problem associated
with their work, it shows that the Design Process
students go through, is exactly the same as that in
industry.

One way to get a really good idea is to have lots of ideas and throw away the bad ones. Attribute analysis is a technique that enables all your pupils to have lots of design ideas and develop those that show most promise. It can also give them insight into the way a single product can give rise to a range of products.
