Welcome to the TEP D&T website.
TEP is now eighteen years old and has a strong membership of over 2000 schools and colleges who make up over one third of the UK total. The programme continues its original aims, enriching and enhancing technology education through its training programmes and distinctive resources and ideas. Many projects, concepts and inspiration can be taken from this very website and of course TEP's national circulation journal - TEP Engineering News and Views.
TEP has supported, and in many cases pioneered the use of new technologies in schools e.g. PIC programming, robotics and control systems. TEP promotes and sources the use of a vast selection of modern and smart materials such as polymorph, thermochromic films and shape memory alloys. TEP is popularly known for developing desktop manufacturing resources, associated teaching and learning materials and supporting emerging technologies, such as nanotechnologies in schools and colleges.
TEP projects and resources can be used in the classroom to illustrate important techniques and principles and meet national curriculum requirements across the Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. TEP exhibits and presents at national and regional conferences throughout the year. TEP is closely associated with Middlesex University Teaching Resources who provide all the equipment and consumables featured on this site. TEP's new focus in particular is to support the Diploma in Engineering at levels 1-3, starting teaching in Sept 2008.
To find out more about the diploma and TEP's support you can redirect your visit to the TEP engineering website at; www.ee2.org.uk by following this link.
